about

Taking their name from Edgar Allan Poe’s “The Cask of Amontillado”, Montresor are a four-piece (sometimes five-piece) instrumental progressive rock band hailing from Melbourne, Australia. Their self-funded debut album Daybreak received local acclaim and soon began spreading out over the world, selling in the UK, US, Norway and Spain.

The head of symphonic prog act Phideaux (US) blessed them with kind words as soon as the album was released. They have received radio airplay on respected Victorian radio station PBS and even as far as Texas, on Tom Laird’s “Fade To Yellow”.

Montresor are currently working on new material and preparing to play a slew of shows from August onwards alongside the best of local progressive music.
