Fourteen Twentysix is the cryptic alias of a Dutch atmospheric rock act that delicately layers experimental alt/post rock, brooding electronics and fragile singer songwriter into filmic, moving songs. Their dark, emotional sound takes one an intriguing journey of the soul. Music that demands listeners to take their time, but allows them to discover something new and different with each rotation. Started in 2006 as a solo project by ex-drummer Chris van der Linden, the project quickly grew into an exceptionally hardworking group that never fails to deliver on stage. The band has shared the stage with bands such as Turin Brakes (UK), Antimatter (UK) and Alternative4 (UK). Operating independently with a strong “DIY” ethic, the band released their music for free through American netlable Mine All Mine records and generated over 50.000 downloads.
Fourteen Twentysix is currently writing new material to follow up of the conceptual art-rock album “In Halflight Our Soul Glows”.

For me this is an overlooked gem in the catalogue bridging the gap from the early years to their more recent catalogue. If you want your BBT easy on the ear with less progressive elements but just as fantastic vocals and guitar look no further. Merits repeat plays and ideal for listening to on long walks with or without a dog.
